It makes me sad when I don't have anything big to post with pictures, so I decided that I am going to start blogging a happy thing each day; something that makes me happy, makes someone else happy, or is just... happy.
Because happy things happened in the last few days, I will share them with today's happiness.
Sunday:
I recycled crayons. Baked 'em up in my mini muffin pan for a lil friend :)
Monday:
Eh. Who cares. It was Monday. I don't remember.
Tuesday:
I was dreaming that Mom was late for worship at church. I woke up with 10 minutes to take a shower, (and apparently, at least in my world, it takes less time if you take a bath and shampoo your hair at the same time). I don't remember what else happened, only the most significant part; I dreamed I had 10 minutes to shower before we left. Mom turned on my light (in real life) and it woke me up. I guess I pushed off, not snooze, on my phone. It was 6:34am. I had to be out the door at 6:45am. I ran into the bathroom, took a 5 minute shower, grabbed the coffee I had set to be ready at 6:40, crammed my feet into my new sneakers, and ran out the door with my bag. As I reached the top of the driveway, I saw the bus. I assume that at that time, Lissy (formerly known as Mo-Mo) was sitting down. I started running down the driveway. I started to slow down when he closed the doors, then realized that he was pulling over to let cars by. I got back up to speed. I was screaming as I was running... but he left. I was 50 feet from the bottom of the driveway when he pulled away. I screamed and threw down my water bottle and my coffee mug that I had wasted so much time on preparing. The water bottle merely bounced and had a little dirt on it... the travel mug lost its bottom, lid, and contents. We're still not sure what happened to the lid... I assume it's lying in the woods somewhere, covered in leaves. In the end, Dad brought me in to school. I had 1st and 2nd periods free, so I could have caught a ride with a friend who was going in for 3rd period, but Dad is awesome and brought me in anyway, only 10 minutes after the bell.
That's not terribly happy, but it certainly happened... and although looking back on it brings back the feelings of anger and frustration that I felt running down that 300 foot driveway, it's fun to tell people. Cuz it's the first time I've ever missed the bus.
The other thing from yesterday: I (and my school counselor) developed a formula for getting a life:
LIFE=get a job+get a car+get a license+volunteer at EPCS for volleyball+participate in gym class
Isn't that nice? I chanted it for the rest of the day just to bug Ashley. So I got Peebles and Secor applications, and today I participated in hand ball. It was lame and I didn't really do anything, but I changed and wandered in circles and dodged balls and human beings. Good start, eh?
Wednesday:
Today, the two immense happinesses are coffee and square-dancing.
I went through a time in my life a few months ago where I didn't like coffee, except from Starbucks (I tried a coffee that I am accustomed to drinking hot and black, iced with cream and sugar). Yesterday, I was determined to make myself coffee and like it. Except I ended up throwing it down in the driveway. So today I made coffee, and although it made me want to puke (currently I'm used to eating nothing and drinking only water in the morning), I was kinda... happy. For the first time in literally months, I felt awake and SUPER energetic. In physics, I couldn't hold still. I was typing too fast for my brain and when I went to guidance, I took a roll of tape with me and threw it up in the air the whole way there and back. I had some serious caffeine in my system. Then, after a lousy, boring, lame-o gym class, my gym teacher called me over. I was expecting congrats on actually playing, but instead he put his arm out. I started to fist pump him, but he said "no no no!" and put my arm through his and spun me around.
Last week, when Ashley and I asked him when we're doing volleyball, he said January, but after hand ball is square-dancing. I started worrying. I would have to really work hard to pass gym if that was true; square-dancing is not on my list of "yes" gym sports. A couple days later, I asked the other coach when volleyball is, and he said after indoor soccer. Wait- WHAT? So Ashley and I confronted K-man (aka Mr. K) today, telling him he's a liar ("I didn't lie... I... I just didn't quite tell the truth."), and that we can't wait for volleyball. It just makes me smile that he called me over just to square-dance. And it only got better when we told Coach Mac why we were dancing.
I'm going to miss this school sooo much next year. We have the best teachers EVER. And of that, friend, I am certain.
Lastly, IT'S SNOWING!
Tell Kara she has to read this one. All of them actually, but especially this one.
