Today was amazing.
I woke up at 6:31, as I was walking to my dresser, I literally told myself "It's ok, you have 10 minutes. You are Ninja!", I stood around in my room wondering if I would have enough time to shower, got my things together, stood in the bathroom til 6:33 wondering if I would have time, and got out of the shower at 6:38. Yeah. Seriously.
I didn't have to go on the pig field trip to the jail n stuff, cuz I had to drive in drivers ed. Apparently I have the least hours of in-class driving done. Yay. So I drove to Rochester, then to Denny's. There I got out and the other girl got in. We got back, critiqued ourselves on the video from last night's concert in choir, I sat around being amazing and unproductive in study hall, sang Feelin' Good at the top of my lungs in lunch, and found the mass of the earth in Physics (bet you couldn't do that). Last period was pig. But only 5 of us were there cuz of the field trip. So our teacher gave us the answers to a review packet, and I went to the library to research SAD (you know what that is, right?) and why my eyes were so dry. The internet claims I have allergies. But I don't. It's the dumb school's heating system. It does this every year. It's trying to wither my eyeballs.
I rode the bus home accompanied by Red's beautiful music, and we went the short way, so I got home before 3 :)
I guess this is morphing into "Story of my Day"... but it was a happy day!
Now, I have a candycane. And a best friend. And a sick kitty. But life is still good.

Happy Thing of the Day 8
Today I had no school. Mwahahahahaha! So after around 11 hours of sleep and a long shower, I headed out to EPCS to go with the 7-12 graders to a senior living home, where we did crafts. I basically watched East Palionites do crafts, cuz the man I was next to didn't want to make a mosaic candle or a snowman door hanger. One woman at my table was hilarious. She was telling us about how the woman kitty corner from her had hit her on the head. She was getting very excited about it when the other woman whispered into my friend Sarah's ear "I did not. That's not true." It was adorable. We didn't even know that she spoke, because she hadn't until that moment. When Sarah told me what she had said, I told her I believed her, and her face lit up as she grinned at me. After a minute or so of silence, the woman who claimed to have been hit on the head said, "I could really go for a Budweiser right now." It was so random... and she was so old. I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe. I told her she was very funny, and she thanked me and told us we were pretty. Besides that, she had the best laugh ever. It was loud and low, and she made the funniest face when she laughed. I cannot wait to see them again :)

Happy Thing of the Day 7
I sang for the news guy with my choir, alphabetized like a million things of choir music, slept in Physics (I promise you, I watched some of the movie and didn't miss a thing), took a vocab test and a pig test, and ruined my best friend's day.
The happiest part of today, I think, was alphebetizing the music. It took up the whole top step of the risers (4 of them...) and I had the bigger piles of music on the 3rd step. I walked back and forth and back and forth, while little freshman boys sang Kiss Me Kate songs. It rocked. I love having something constructive to do :)

Happy Thing of the Day 6
Today was boring.
The Physics test was better than I thought, but I dunno how I did on it...
It wasn't a terribly exciting day. I guess the one thing that stands out as "happy" would be soccer in gym class.
It was amazing. Hardly a moment went by without someone tripping, getting hit by the ball, or tripping themselves by trying to do a trick and twisting their legs up. I got hit once. Mwahahaha!
And maybe Mrs. B dancing like a crazy woman to French Horn music, dancing to 2cellos Viva la Vida like a boss, and making me line dance with her was AWESOME and happy :)
Annnnd while I'm at it, I guess the bus ride home in the SUN was amazing. With music, of course.
I got home, turned on the tv, chilled with Ashley online, made mac n cheese (which was delicious, by the way), and now I'm watching NCIS with Lissy.

Happy Thing of the Day 5
Today was amazing.
It started out with riding around Palmyra in the cheese-wedge car, singing, and chillaxing with Baby Orange Pillow; had doing nothing in Physics (which will result in failing a Physics test tomorrow), freaking out about my senior research paper, and doing nothing in pig (surprise surprise) in the middle; and ended with Ashley and I walking down to guidance so I could ask my counselor about Smith.
Smith.
Smith. Smith. Smith.
Is Smith a first name? Can it be? I have spent hours and hours pondering this question.
It just sounds like a first name. Smith. After you have thought about it for over a minute, it starts to sound like Smit and Myth. I know it is a last name, but it sounds like a first name! It does!
I asked my counselor, and she said it's a last name, but maybe could be a first name...
Mrs. B said she has never heard of it used as a first name, but it could be. Smith.
Mrs. V said she always thinks of it as a last name because of blacksmith... but maaaybe it could be a first name?
I intend to ask more teachers about it tomorrow. It has been bugging me for weeks. Smith.
Smith-Smith-Smith.
After school, when Mom picked Ashley and I up, we saw a friend of ours walking through the cold to work.
My mom stopped and I jumped out and walked over to her. When she heard that we would give her a ride, she did a little happy dance :)
That's my day. Believe it or not, the whole Smith thing makes me happy. It's a strange (which is myyy middle name!) way to start conversations with people.
Random, weird, SMITH!
If you love me, you will give me your input on Smith. No matter how long ago this was posted. Can Smith be a first name, too?

Happy Thing of the Day 4
Today was an even better day than yesterday, for various reasons.
Mrs. B gave me some Christmas Tree, which I carried around for the rest of the day, and I came home to my doggy standing in the cold, wet driveway, waiting for me :)

Happy Thing of the Day 3
Today my choir director gave me bow, cuz I'm a shiny star.
I carried it around with me all day, and like 100 people asked me about it.
EDIT:
I have another happy thing!
Saturday at the Christian School's Christmas Bazaar, I ordered a fuzzy blankie from one of Lissy's bus drivers. She said it would be ready later on this week. Today, she walked in with a Jo-Ann bag full of blankie! It's better than I planned. I asked for pink camo with black on the other side, then I changed it to black with a faded pink pattern, then black with pink doggy.
It is navy blue doggy on one side, and pink flower pattern on the other. It's better than I ever could have imagined, days early, annnnnnnnnd I had a $5 discount because she is an awesome woman (and I was having trouble convincing my parents to get me a $30 blankie).
I would take pictures and show you, except I put it in Mom's closet so she can wrap it up for Christmas :)
I am so ridiculously happy. Don't you wish you were here?

Happy thing of the day 2
Hmmm...
Today was a crazy day. Lots of happy things and lots of not so happy things happened. But I will try to choose the bestest happy things. Ready?
I drove today. In drivers ed from Canandaigua to the school. Our teacher just let me go, cuz I know the way (we go to church in Canandaigua)... so he just told me to drive. It was fun and liberating :)
I got to meet an acquaintance of my brother's who visited choir. Because I have a studyhall 4th period, I was his designated escort as he visited other teachers... but it didn't work out too well. I was supposed to use my magical guidance pass to get us past the hall monitor, but she wouldn't accept it, because we were not going to guidance. So Mr. Visitor tried explaining where and why he was going, which caused the monitor to call the main office... we stood there while she called and radioed various people. He was so polite the whole time, calling her "Ma'am" and referring to every teacher as "Mr" and "Mrs", unlike so many alumni. Eventually, he was essentially banned from the school until 2:30. I went to the choir room, and Mrs. B came out and grabbed him and he sat in her room until she took him around the school during her lunch period to see all of his past teachers.
Then there was my 45 minute bus ride home, with the sun on my face and loud music in my ears... that was amazing.

Happy thing of the day
It makes me sad when I don't have anything big to post with pictures, so I decided that I am going to start blogging a happy thing each day; something that makes me happy, makes someone else happy, or is just... happy.
Because happy things happened in the last few days, I will share them with today's happiness.
Sunday:
I recycled crayons. Baked 'em up in my mini muffin pan for a lil friend :)
Monday:
Eh. Who cares. It was Monday. I don't remember.
Tuesday:
I was dreaming that Mom was late for worship at church. I woke up with 10 minutes to take a shower, (and apparently, at least in my world, it takes less time if you take a bath and shampoo your hair at the same time). I don't remember what else happened, only the most significant part; I dreamed I had 10 minutes to shower before we left. Mom turned on my light (in real life) and it woke me up. I guess I pushed off, not snooze, on my phone. It was 6:34am. I had to be out the door at 6:45am. I ran into the bathroom, took a 5 minute shower, grabbed the coffee I had set to be ready at 6:40, crammed my feet into my new sneakers, and ran out the door with my bag. As I reached the top of the driveway, I saw the bus. I assume that at that time, Lissy (formerly known as Mo-Mo) was sitting down. I started running down the driveway. I started to slow down when he closed the doors, then realized that he was pulling over to let cars by. I got back up to speed. I was screaming as I was running... but he left. I was 50 feet from the bottom of the driveway when he pulled away. I screamed and threw down my water bottle and my coffee mug that I had wasted so much time on preparing. The water bottle merely bounced and had a little dirt on it... the travel mug lost its bottom, lid, and contents. We're still not sure what happened to the lid... I assume it's lying in the woods somewhere, covered in leaves. In the end, Dad brought me in to school. I had 1st and 2nd periods free, so I could have caught a ride with a friend who was going in for 3rd period, but Dad is awesome and brought me in anyway, only 10 minutes after the bell.
That's not terribly happy, but it certainly happened... and although looking back on it brings back the feelings of anger and frustration that I felt running down that 300 foot driveway, it's fun to tell people. Cuz it's the first time I've ever missed the bus.
The other thing from yesterday: I (and my school counselor) developed a formula for getting a life:
LIFE=get a job+get a car+get a license+volunteer at EPCS for volleyball+participate in gym class
Isn't that nice? I chanted it for the rest of the day just to bug Ashley. So I got Peebles and Secor applications, and today I participated in hand ball. It was lame and I didn't really do anything, but I changed and wandered in circles and dodged balls and human beings. Good start, eh?
Wednesday:
Today, the two immense happinesses are coffee and square-dancing.
I went through a time in my life a few months ago where I didn't like coffee, except from Starbucks (I tried a coffee that I am accustomed to drinking hot and black, iced with cream and sugar). Yesterday, I was determined to make myself coffee and like it. Except I ended up throwing it down in the driveway. So today I made coffee, and although it made me want to puke (currently I'm used to eating nothing and drinking only water in the morning), I was kinda... happy. For the first time in literally months, I felt awake and SUPER energetic. In physics, I couldn't hold still. I was typing too fast for my brain and when I went to guidance, I took a roll of tape with me and threw it up in the air the whole way there and back. I had some serious caffeine in my system. Then, after a lousy, boring, lame-o gym class, my gym teacher called me over. I was expecting congrats on actually playing, but instead he put his arm out. I started to fist pump him, but he said "no no no!" and put my arm through his and spun me around.
Last week, when Ashley and I asked him when we're doing volleyball, he said January, but after hand ball is square-dancing. I started worrying. I would have to really work hard to pass gym if that was true; square-dancing is not on my list of "yes" gym sports. A couple days later, I asked the other coach when volleyball is, and he said after indoor soccer. Wait- WHAT? So Ashley and I confronted K-man (aka Mr. K) today, telling him he's a liar ("I didn't lie... I... I just didn't quite tell the truth."), and that we can't wait for volleyball. It just makes me smile that he called me over just to square-dance. And it only got better when we told Coach Mac why we were dancing.
I'm going to miss this school sooo much next year. We have the best teachers EVER. And of that, friend, I am certain.
Lastly, IT'S SNOWING!
